The Book of Wars
Introduction
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth; Gen.1:1
then God said, let light be - and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good, Gen.1:3-4 Intrlin.
--If Almighty God created all in perfection, then what happened to that perfect world?
Ans.- Before creation, Lucifer, the 'covering cherub' who led the praises of God, saw how beautiful and talented he was, and shattered his perfection by pride, saying:
"I will go up to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit in the mount of meeting, in the sides of the north." Isaiah 14:13 Intrln.
[Notice how many "I"s in that statement!]
God does not give his glory to another, so He demoted Lucifer who rebelled and drew away a third of the angels, now called demons. This rebel, now called Satan, lost his heavenly powers so he cannot war against heaven, so he now attacks God's creation, mankind. These wars manifest in rivalries, divisions, heresies, murders, and shooting wars. Gal.5:20-21 ------
And well we know who takes the brunt,- the innocent and those who obey God.
Since we cannot eliminate Satan and his evil empire in the earth, we have no choice:
We must learn WARFARE! Our Heavenly Father has not left us powerless to defend our territory: Jos.10:25, 1Tim.6:12, 2Tim.4:7-8
--- Rather, He exhorts us to put Satan under our heel and
protect our own. As you continue to study, you will see this is spiritual warfare. - Eph.6:10-19 -------
There are three kinds of spiritual war:- personal, for souls, and for territories.
We will concentrate on the personal kind for now, even though there is considerable overlapping of these areas.

Now, before we learn war, we must first be mature followers of our Lord or we will be unable to hear His guidance and directives. We must learn that without the Living Word we are vulnerable to the wiles of the Adversary. We know Jesus by getting into His Word.

Personally, I learn scripture faster by running Bible tapes whenever I can, in addition to my daily open-Bible study. As all good scholars point out, the devil, as a [hungry] lion, goes about seeking whom he may devour [lit. kill.]
Thus, we are beginning by learning the basic protocols that uphold Creation that we may have solid ground on which to make our stand. - Carl

There is a highly recommended classic on our warfare that I have not studied completely:
The War on the Saints, by Jesse Penn-Lewis (1912 ed.) Be advised: this was so powerful an exposure of Satan's tactics that he had people issueing expurgated versions. I know of only one honest source of the original 1912 version:

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. Psalm 19:1

Work for the food ... which endures to eternal Life, .... John 6:27

This is the work of God, that you believe on Him whom He has sent. John 6:29

For this is the will of My Father, everyone who beholds the Son and believes on Him, may have eternal life; and I myself will raise him up on the last day. Jn.6:40
> Behold = Recognise who He is and receive Him.
> Now people, this is only the first step in entering the Kingdom. Don't stop here or you may get lost from the Shepherd's sight. You just enlisted
in the army of God.
> See Ephesians 5 & 6. You don't think satan has forgotten you, do you?
>Brethren, one thing is clear, the world operates on the 'truths' their philosophers and scientists have discovered in nature and their "vain imaginations" [Rom.1:21].
>Meanwhile they ignore the 'wonderful works of God' that testify of Him [Rom1:19-20]
>They hate Him and His Bible that contradicts their man-centered 'theories.' Again I say, Beware of 'natural philosophy' that fails to account for God's marvels of Creation!
None can come to Me, unless the Father ... draws him; ... It is written ... AND THEY SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD. Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. John 6:44-45
> He has sent us prophets and teachers but the enemy has also sown tares, so we must always check them out by the Word and the Spirit.
... and the bread also which I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh. John 6:51
> world = ALL people. Bread = broken as the final sacrifice for all the sin of the world.
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. John 6:63
> And I emphasize, if you want to retain and nourish that Life, you MUST partake of the Bread [Word] of Life daily! Without it you cannot overcome the enemy. Take the time to read the Bible and meditate on those lines that the Spirit brings to your attention.
A good start is Psalm 19 where David praises the wonderful works of God.
Again I emphasise, ours is spiritual war against the evil empire of satan. We must keep our sword sharp by daily fellowship with our Lord of Hosts. The door into His Presence is the Word and prayer. Without the Word we are helpless soldiers.
And one more truth: "Without faith it is impossible to please [Father.]"
I will attempt to explain what faith is, and how to wield it in coming issues. It IS the key to victory!

Remember always, that we have an enemy that never rests because he knows his time grows short. Therefore as a warrior of the Army, you must continually study the Word by the Spirit, and beware of false teachers. Don't take us teachers as gospel, YOU study to show yourself approved of God. Let the Word be your guide.
And the God of All comfort preserve and keep you to that Day.

In these last days, the Father is reaching out to all who will obey, to prepare His children to stand for the truth that will give them victory over the evil one invading our land.. Eph.4.
If you wonder what would please Father, join us in building up His people to stand firm in these troubled times.
We must work while we still have the Light. The day of Wrath bears down on the unruly nations, but we do not fear it for the Father is not angry with us! He promises us refuge. Ps.91
